Keep your thoughts from before the outcome
Once an outcome is known, it can be hard to remember precisely what you originally expected. Instead of saying 'I predicted that', you can return to a record written at the time. UnsealDay lets you schedule the release of predictions, commitments and stories intended for the future.
After sealing, even the author cannot rewrite the original. That makes it possible to revisit the reasons and feelings behind both correct and mistaken expectations. Seeing when a record was sealed and when it opened is central to the service.
Know what is visible and what stays sealed
Titles, authors and creation and opening times are visible in the lists. The body stays locked until the opening time, after which it can be read without signing in. We do not rewrite member records as site information or open sealed bodies early for a site review.
Sealing is not a promise of absolute secrecy or legal notarization. Exceptional access by authorized moderators is audited, and policy violations or rights concerns can lead to restricted access or deletion. Requested certificates verify technical integrity, not the truth of the content.
Separate member records from service guidance
Sealed records and Open records contain member contributions. Examples in the guide are fictional demonstrations, not real member activity or prediction results. Comments, votes and member levels do not certify that a record is factual.
Records created to test service functions may be retained separately from the public lists. We do not relabel test material as genuine member experiences or duplicate it to inflate public content.
Use the service responsibly
Do not post another person's private information, illegal material, threats or content that infringes their rights. Members can report records and comments using the report buttons, or report an author through their name menu. Moderators assess the target and stated reason before deciding on action.
Advertising requests remain disabled until site approval and required consent settings have been checked. Ads are not placed on sealed waiting screens, sign-in, account or writing screens. The policy documents below explain privacy and record retention in more detail.
